This unique run takes the tradition of "beating the bounds" to the extreme, involving long distance fell running and harsh winter conditions. It takes you round the Parish of Bradfield, the largest in England covering some 35,000 acres. The run starts and finishes in Loxley village, on the outskirts of Sheffield, and visits some of the most isolated and wild moorland summits in the Peak District National Park.
Forty-eight miles, give or take the odd slip of the map-measuring wheel. The run has taken place every year since 1994, on the weekend between Christmas and New Year. At least one person has gone all the way round each year, with others joining in along the way for a day out on the hills. The run was devised by members of Dark Peak Fell Runners and is now established on the club's calendar of events. This web site is a resource for those who have done it, those who are about to, or those who just happen across us on the web. If that is you, thanks for dropping by!
